Resonanz Opera Apprentice Director/Conductor/Répétiteurs 2019

The application requires the following items below:

Apprentice Director

1. Application (YAP Tracker)

2. One page Resume/CV & a short bio of two or three paragraphs.

3. Recent Headshot/Photograph.

4. A video recording (an excerpt) of your original staging (performance or rehearsal).
(Up to 15 min.)

5. Reference information from an academic or professional contact

6. No Application Fee: Everyone will be considered

Apprentice Conductor/Pianist:

1. A video recording (1) of you performing as either an accompanist or a soloist in a concert or rehearsal. (Up to 15 min.)

2. A video recording (1) of you conducting an instrumental ensemble/orchestra (12 people or more) in a concert or rehearsal OR (2) a vocal soloist or small ensemble of up to six singers with a piano or instrumental ensemble/orchestra rehearsing or performing an aria or operatic ensemble. (Up to 15 min.)

3. Reference information from an academic or professional contact.

4. Brief Personal Interview with Resonanz Faculty

5. No Application Fee: Everyone will be considered

For the audition, prepare to conduct and play a 5 minute excerpt from an ensemble section of Wagner’s “Die Walkure”. It is helpful if you can sing some of the vocal parts to give us an indication of your language skills and your understanding of vocal writing. Pianists and conductors, who are comfortable sight reading, may be asked to play an aria for one of the singers whose audition time is near their own.
