Live Audition Location

Live auditions will be (a) livestreamed (for non-European residents) on Saturday 23 October and Sunday 24 October 2021, (b) held in London, UK on Saturday 30 October and Sunday 31 October 2021, and (c) held in Florence, Italy on Saturday 6 November and Sunday 7 November 2021. In the event that you are granted a live audition as part of this second round, we would like to know your desired audition location. Audition times that are allocated cannot be changed and swaps are not permitted.

Please note that these are the locations of the second round of auditions, following the first round of online application assessments; the third round of auditions will also be live and require candidates to audition in Florence and Venice, Italy, on dates to be confirmed 3-12 December 2021. Applicants who reach the third and final round will have their travel and accommodation costs covered. Please do not apply if you will be unavailable on these dates.

For this second round, auditionees will be asked to prepare the following: Singers must offer three arias in different languages, one of which must be in Italian, and one which must include some recitative style delivery, as well as two songs. Répétiteurs will need to prepare a solo piano piece or movement of approximately 5 minutes in duration and the following two opera scenes: G. Puccini - La bohème, Act I Opening to entrance of Benoit and W. A. Mozart - Così fan tutte, Act I Scene 1. You will be asked to play while singing in the vocal lines. You will also be given some sight reading.

Referees

The details of two referees are required. This may include any music industry professionals with whom you have worked, including conductors and stage directors; references from a current or a recent singing teacher will not be accepted. It is your responsibility to contact your referees in plenty of time to ensure that each of them is happy to provide a reference should we contact them. Your current or a recent singing teacher, any agent and/or family relative may NOT act as a referee.
