Final call for lead roles at the Varna International Opera Academy in Varna, Bulgaria

Varna International Opera Academy 2019 will take place in Varna, Bulgaria, June 2019, featuring fully-staged opera productions of Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, and Bernstein’s Candide.

Available roles:
Dorabella and Don Alfonso in Mozart's Cosi fan tutte
Lauretta,  Zita and Schicchi in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi
Soprano Soloist in Mozart's Great Mass in C minor
Angelica in Suor Angelica

Participants will have the opportunity to work with the Metropolitan Opera’s own Maestro Gregory Buchalter.

Featuring fully-staged orchestral opera productions. Participants will have the opportunity to work with the Metropolitan Opera’s own Maestro Gregory Buchalter and Royal Opera House opera coach, Marek Ruszczynski. 

This season's works:
•    Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi (fully-staged)
•    Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte (fully-staged)
•    Bernstein’s Candide, (concert style)
•    Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor

Soloist Program
-Lead or featured roles in fully-staged orchestral productions
-Voice lessons and Coaching
-Masterclasses
-Classes in Movement and Stage Techniques
-Option to participate in Musical Theater Program (*no additional cost)

Young Artist Program
-Supporting roles in fully-staged orchestral productions
-Voice lessons and Coaching
-Masterclasses
-Classes in Movement and Stage Techniques
-Participant in Lieder recital
-Option to participate in the Musical Theater Program (*no additional cost)

Musical Theater Program
-Musical Theater Recitals/Concerts
-Voice lessons and Coaching
-Masterclasses
-Classes in Movement and Stage Techniques
-Option to participate as ensemble in fully-staged orchestral productions (*no additional cost)

Choral Singers Program
-Choral singer in Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor and concert version of Candide
-Option to be choral singer in fully-staged orchestral productions
-Voice lessons and Coaching
-Masterclasses
-Option to participate in the Musical Theater Program (*no additional cost)
