The international Young Artists Project is just that: a month-long intensive that explores opera, musical theater and art song. The two operas being performed this summer (program runs June 20-July 19) are Puccini's SUOR ANGELICA and Rossini's IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, and will be double cast and performed with orchestra under the baton of Maestro Federico Bardazzi, director of the young artists division for the Maggio Musicale in Florence, Italy. Based in the nearby hill town of Monte San Savino, come sing in historic venues in Tuscany under the tutelage of knowledgable and caring teachers and vocal coaches, learning the Italian repertoire from experts in its intended form from luminaries such as Maestro Paolo Bellocci, Collaboratore at the Fondazione del Teatro del Maggio Musicale.

Singers receive individual voice lessons and vocal coaching on roles/repertoire prepared. Pianists interested in solo playing as well as collaborative opportunities are also encouraged to apply for our new Piano Institute, headed by Kent Lyman with artists Francesco Attesti and Hector Moreno in residence. Please visit our website at http://www.internationalyoungartistsproject.org for more information on the program, accommodation, pricing and application process. Participants can write to Ellen Williams at ellenwilliams@internationalyoungartistsproject.org with inquiries or to request an audition in New York on January 17. A recorded audition will also be accepted through Feb. 1 and can be linked to the online application. Partial scholarships are available.
