Audition Requirements
Shreveport Opera will provide an accompanist (there is no additional fee for this), or you may bring your own.
Semi-finalists will be selected and notified of their acceptance by February
1, 2012There are 15 min. rehearsal slots with the accompanist starting Friday afternoon, March 2, 2012.
Semi-Finals:Saturday, March 3, 2012. You will be required to sing two arias. Shreveport Opera will provide an accompanist or you may bring your own. Please bring music for the accompanist. The judges will select 10 finalists and repertoire for the Finalists Concert at the completion of the semi-finals competition.
Finalists Concert:Sunday, March 4, 2012. The finalists will present a concert open to the public on Sunday afternoon. Performance order will be determined by the judges and will be based in part on programming considerations for the concert. At the completion of the concert, winners will be announced and prizes awarded.
Dress: Traditional audition attire - Please, no tuxedos or formal gowns.
