Repertoire

Each pianist should prepare the following for their audition:

A solo piece of no more than six minutes duration, to be performed from memory
The opening trios of Così fan tutte (#1-#3, including recitatives)
AND “Here I Stand” from The Rake’s Progress

In addition, each pianist must offer:

EITHER Tosca Act 1 OR Madama Butterfly Act 1
EITHER Le nozze di Figaro Act 2 finale OR Così fan tutte Act 1 finale
TWO of the following:

"Du bist der Lenz" from Die Walküre
Composer's Aria, "Sein wir wieder gut," from Ariadne auf Naxos
"Mab, la reine des mensonges" from Roméo et Juliette
"Cortigiani, vil razza dannata" from Rigoletto

You should be prepared to play and sing all selections, and you may be asked to conduct as well.

You will be asked to sight-read, and there will be a brief interview with the audition panel.

We ask that you submit your chosen solo piece and operatic excerpts on your application, but you may substitute a different piece or excerpt at your audition if you wish.
