Garsington Opera Alvarez Young Artists Programme - Chorus / Young Artists (2020 Season)

Applications are open for singers for Garsington Opera's 2020 Alvarez Young Artist Programme. Most successful applicants will sing in the chorus, but applicants will also be considered for covers and small roles, which may or may not be part of a chorus contract. There is also the opportunity to take part in development performance(s), masterclasses, recitals and other enrichment activities.

Mozart Mitridate, re di Ponto in Italian (Conductor: Clemens Schuldt, Director: Tim Albery)

Dvořák Rusalka in Czech (Conductor: Douglas Boyd, Director: Michael Boyd)

Beethoven Fidelio in German (Conductor: Gérard Korsten, Director: John Cox)

Please complete the brief form below to be considered for an audition for chorus and/or small roles and covers with Garsington Opera in our 2020 season. Questions marked with an asterisk are compulsory.

Contracts will run from roughly 27 April - 19 July 2020; all applicants must be available to work full-time during this period, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Please note we can only accept applications from UK/EU passport holders or those with a full UK working visa (NOT a student visa).

Auditions will be held in September and October 2019 until all chorus slots are filled. Auditions will be held in London (Rudolf Steiner House, 35 Park Rd, London NW1 6XT) on 10, 16, 30 September and 8 and 15 October and Glasgow (Weir Hall, Scottish Opera, 39 Elmbank Crescent, Glasgow G2 4PT) on 24 September. Please make sure you indicate in which city you would like to audition on your application. Please apply early - we will not wait till the application deadline to start allocating auditions, so the earlier you apply the more likely you are to get a chance to sing to us!
